Immortalised by Pinky, Graham Greene and Mods, Brighton has been portrayed as the most sinister course in the UK. But anyone who has visited the race course on a sunny day in spring or summer would find it hard to see how it was ever viewed in such a way. As you follow the horses from the start of the umbrella handle course to the finishing line you notice a glistening expanse on the horizon - the sea.
